Die Spieler Krankheit
"Gamblur's Disease? What in the world is that?" you're probably wondering. "More anti-online gaming rhetoric from the righteous right?"
Well, not quite. Gamblur's Disease simply a reference to those most commonly made mistakes, playing habits and symptoms practiced by nearly all unsuccessful bettors (aka "losers") gambling at land-based and online casinos. What it basically means is that the foremost reason why gamblers do not win, or perhaps we should say "win less often than they should," is attributed to their failure to remain focused on their game play.
Land-based casino players inherently exhibit a greater propensity for losing their concentration while playing because of the numerous distractions strategically organized by the casino's management in order to achieve this controlling effect. Sure, casinos are wonderfully generous when it comes to spoiling you with food and an ample supply of liquor. But beware, for there is indeed a method to their kindness: Not only does the casino want to prevent you from stepping out their to grab something as trivial as food, but they also want you subdued to the point where a) should you be losing, it won't hurt all that much, and b) if you are winning, something in your bloodstream suggests you are going to continue winning.
Yeah, right! The truth is: ultimately alcohol is a depressant. However, its initial effects on a person include enhanced feelings of courage, confidence, and an overall positive outlook, all of which can be lethal instincts for mortal players enjoying games of chance in which the odds of coming out on top are stacked heavily against you.
A gambler enjoying a winning streak - no matter how slight - will feel compelled to augment the size of their bets based not on statistical facts, but instead due to one's own human emotions. For instance, by observing any experienced or pro gambler you will notice how they consistently conduct themselves in a seemingly cool, relaxed and collected manner. Of course they'll also jump up and down wildly after winning some major bank, but it's an excellent bet that this emotional outburst will happen only after the game has been played, as well as far from anybody's sight.
Gamblur's disease is hardly limited to those innocent folks frequenting regular brick and mortar casinos. While their counterparts at online casinos are enjoying their favorite games from the comfort of their own living rooms, and far from any land casino's atmospheric pressure, they too are vulnerable to a number of equally costly distractions, perhaps even more so.
For example, suppose you're playing from home and just happen to have a few too many drinks. Who is going to cut you off from the bar, you? Or imagine you are in the middle of a high stakes game and your wife starts crying because the baby started crying because the dog bit her. It is enough to cause anybody to lose their focus, and possibly their shirt too.
